Serve Saturday Vision
The vision of Saturday Serve Days is for our church to go into our communities and love our neighbors. We hope to touch people and encourage them to open their hearts to the love of Jesus through practical projects and acts of service.
How will Serve Saturdays work?
The vision of Serve Day is for us, the local church, to go into our communities and love our neighbors. We hope people’s hearts will be opened to the love of Jesus through practical projects and acts of service. We believe that the best way for our church to get involved in Serve Saturdays is through Life Groups. Every Life Group can choose a project that will engage the gifts and passions of their group. This is a great time to get creative with your group and figure out where your group is best equipped to serve our community. For instance, partnering with a non-profit to help meet a need, do yard work/repair work for someone who is in need, bake goods to bring to first responders, sign up to help clean at a local school, host a free carwash. These are just some examples (more listed below), but we believe in each of our Life Group’s ability to in develop a project that will bring Christ’s love to our community. If you have trouble coming up with something, we are happy to help you decide on a project. Each Life Group will serve on one of the Serve Days. The group can choose which day works for your group and schedule the project for that day. Plan to have a few extra volunteer spots in your projects for those who are not in Life Groups to join.
What is Serve Day?
Serve Saturdays is one of our outreach events that happens through Life Groups. It is an exciting opportunity for us, the local church, to go into our communities and love our neighbors. This summer, we are reaching out through our Life Groups to serve our communities and sharing the love of Jesus through simple, practical acts of kindness. *See below if you are not currently in a Life Group.
I want to participate in Serve Day but I am not in a Life Group. How do I find a group to join?
You can find group by searching our Serve Saturday registration. Most Life Groups have open spots that you can join as well as community non-profits we have partnered with for that day.
How do I communicate to the church which Serve Day project our group is planning?
We’d love to know how your group plans to participate in Serve Day. You can register your group’s Serve Day project with our Outreach Coordinator Ethan King at eking@cotnaz.org.
Who pays the costs associated with our Small Group’s Serve Project?
Each Life Group is responsible for the costs associated with their Serve Day project. We recommend spending time planning your project based on your group’s size and commitment level.
What should I bring on Serve Saturday?
Bring any personal items you may need during your project: Serve Day T-Shirt, sunscreen, drinking water, sneakers, a hat, etc. Your leader can confirm any project-specific items you may need to bring: gloves, rakes, lawnmowers, tarps, work tools, etc. Work clothes are a good idea for serve opportunities requiring physical labor, and we recommend not wearing jewelry.
Who can I contact with questions or concerns?
Your Leader should have additional information about Serve Day, or you can email our Outreach Coordinator at eking@cotnaz.org
