We are joined on today’s Christmas day broadcast by Tawnya Landes. Tawnya joins us today to share about her passion for packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. She first learned about Operation Christmas child last year when a child who received a shoebox from somebody, she knows wrote her back and talked about how the shoebox had impacted their life. Last year Tawnya was able to do 50 shoeboxes and this year she was able to do close to 200 shoeboxes. Most of the items in the shoeboxes Tawnya has made by hand. An example of some of the items that she has made for the shoeboxes are dolls and art kits. She also had a friend that was able to make some wooden trucks for the shoeboxes. Russell was born in Midlothian, Virginia when Russell was about 6 years old his family moved to Ukraine to be missionaries there, he lived there till he was 10 And move back to the US. Then his family served another stent in Ukraine later on where he graduated high school. Russell first came to the valley to study at James Madison University, and recently moved back to the area with his wife and took the job with New Bridges.
