Church of the Nazarene- Harrisonburg

When God Seems Silent (3)

When God Seems Silent: “Are you in A Hurry?”

Is God actually silent? Does he really go quiet on us?

David was anointed to be the next King of Israel as a teenager, but didn’t become King until he was 30. David knew what it meant to wait.‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:13-14‬‬I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬‬but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

The Bottom Line:

We can’t confuse God’s delay with His silence.

Waiting may mean enduring opposition.‭‭

Matthew‬ ‭11:28-29

‬‬“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

God is not passive while we wait.

We can’t wait passively.

Is your prayer to Him one of defeat or desperation?
